Please see some of my most frequently asked questions below. Can’t find the answer you are looking for? Feel free to shoot me an email at thebonniebothy@gmail.com

  • Is the moss alive?
No, all my moss pieces are made using naturally preserved moss and plants. This means they are 100% real but will not grow and don’t require watering or maintenance. I never use artificial moss or plants.
  • How do I look after my moss art?
A wonderful thing about moss art is how easy it is to look after. Simply hang it on your wall and enjoy! All that might be needed is an occassional light dusting - I recommend doing this either gently with a feather duster or with one of those air spray cans you use for cleaning keyboards. If possible, it is also best to keep your moss art away from too much direct sunlight or areas of very high humidity - as these will cause the colours to fade over time.
  • How is the moss preserved?
All the moss and plants used in my pieces have been preserved using 100% plant-based and natural materials, which means they remain fully biodegradable and are completely non toxic. They are not dried, but instead the preservation materials (mainly plant-based glycerin) have replaced the sap within the plants. This means that they keep their natural cell structure, allowing them to remain soft and tactile without the need for watering or maintenance.
  • Do you do custom orders?
Yes! Custom orders are my favourite :) No matter how big or small, just get in touch and we can get the process started.
  • How does the process for commissions work?
When you first get in touch about a commission I will gather the information I need to give you a very rough estimate of the cost. If that seems agreeable to you we will move onto the design stage - with your collaboration I will come up with a number of proposed designs and accurate prices. Once a final design is chosen and I have received a deposit (normally 50% of the total price) I can start the process of making your final piece. If you want I am always happy to send in progress photos and for your input during the making :) Finally, your moss piece will be delivered to you ready to hang! For larger pieces I can also arrange installation.
  • I already have a frame and I would like some moss art to go in it - is this possible?
Of course :) If you already have a frame that you would like to be filled with moss art please just get in touch. Some pictures alongside size information would be useful and would speed the process along of getting something made for you.
  • Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Please get in touch if you would like a piece sent overseas and I can calculate shipping costs for you. Any import or duty taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
